about

The debut release of Montreal based trio, Bord À Bord sets foot in the land of grassroots free jazz while trekking into the infinite. Bord À Bord, meaning ‘side by side’ is not afraid to juxtapose broken fiery swing with almost dub like ambience. Leaney threads his wailing saxophone tone with multilayered electronics and sometimes uses loops launching the sound towards the cosmos. Tighe’s polyrhythmic drums often groove with a sink full of brassy percussion and Foisy-Couture is always present; gripping and digging into his upright bass unleashing harmonic sounds from sheer force.
